Group Guidelines

1. We will attempt to actually meet - outside of cyberspace -
at least every other month, preferably every 6 weeks -
time allowing, once a month

2. Reading selections will be chosen with the intent to broaden
our fictional horizons and should meet the following criteria:
- They should be fictional novels (no memoirs,
biographies, autobiographies, poetry, short stories, essays
etc)
- We will alternate between contemporary choices and
classics
- Selections should not have been read by any one
in the group within the last five years

3. New members should be recommended by a current group
member, and additions should be voted on by all members
of the group

Choices

Okay...I'm not sure exactly what we want to say constitutes a "classic" but Lolita (1955), A Clockwork Orange (1962) and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1962) all have copyright dates after 1950.

I would say we should choose from Tender is the Night and An American Tragedy since those two were repeats on lists.

I'm going to see if I can create a poll so that we can vote.

Decisions are the worst....

So who has the final say in what we read? My knowledge of classics is small...so I leave it to someone else. I am ok with whatever we read, I just want to get reading!!!! =)

Our first post!

I invited all of you to be authors to this blog....that means that you can create your own threads easily, and you can also post comments under an individual's thread. This is pretty user friendly, but you will need a google account - not a google e-mail account. Each time you sign in to comment you need to use the e-mail and password you use to create your google account -

This really is user friendly, you just have to learn to navigate the tabs and use the Help function if you need to. I can't find the directions I used to have for this, but if I do I will e-mail them to you!
